Are Pakistani Dramas Promoting Sucide?

How many of you love Pakistani Dramas? Before that you start thinking you will be judged, please stop. I actually think that following Pakistani Dramas is cool and if you don't watch them thinking that it won't sound cool, then you need to shun off this stereotype. It's 21st Century already!

I am truly overwhelmed every time someone praise Pakistani serials. It is not very long ago that I became an avid watcher of Pakistani Prime Time serials (yes, the prime time ones 🙈). Thanks to couple of my university friends and youtube. Because, I am not a person who'd stick to television for straight 1 hour.

No doubt most of the content that our dramas are displaying is appreciated. They keep you hooked to the intriguing story. However, I have noticed a disturbing fact about some of the Pakistani Dramas and I cannot contain it any longer in my mind.
So, buckle up as I take you to the mind boggling ride of my brain.

We all agree on suicide being the sensitive issue and it shall always be addressed or dealt carefully. But what I have noticed after watching the last episodes of few of the dramas of GEO TV, I realized that these shows are also sending out the message of *suicide* indirectly.
For instance, Ab Dekh Khuda kya karta hai.

Did you watch this show? No? No problem, I will let you know the crux. Jaan-e-Alam of Ab Dekh Khuda Kia Karta Hai was an evil with a bad character, all his life. He literally ruined every other girl. When he realized his mistake, he was even pardoned by one of the girls who became his bhabhi (Sister-in-Law), later on. But, then what happened! He chose not to face his brother and decided to end his life.

Likewise, Naeema of Khamoshi. Naeema was a greedy women who literally snatched every other happiness of her family to satisfy her desires. She even snatched the husband-to-be of her sister and what not. The evil has to face the consequences and when the time came to do so, she decided to end her life.

The sole reason of choosing the suicide for such characters seems nothing to me but that the writers were incapable of thinking out of the box.

Or maybe I am wrong!
I took this from Giphy.com
But, I didn't get what message did these drama serials and others with the same plot try to send out.
Are they showing that one can do whatever they want and at the end, end their life to escape the consequences? Does this mean there is no life after realization of your mistakes?

Instead, why don't these serials show a life after realization- Show how culprit is more careful after being guilty, show them treating others nicely, show them getting closer to Allah or show them being punished!
Do you remember Khaani? How beautifully they handled the character of Mir Hadi at the end. They could have landed him in a suicide but no the makers decided to send out a better message by keeping the culprit imprisoned. A round of applause for the whole team!

But ending their life is not at all impacting the society positively. There are masses who watch these Dramas and this is the known fact. You never know when a suicide on TV screen can promote someone to do the same to escape guilt, blame and depression. Someone out there is always struggling in their life and watching a suicide in any of the drama serials/series can let them choose a wrong path.
