Book review-Like the flowing river

Whenever I am free, I love to read books. I love reading books since I was a child. I read books regardless of their genre and author. Today, I will review my latest read that is "The Flowing River". The author of this novel is Paulo Coelho and he needs no introduction. One of my favorite novel "The Alchemist" is written by Paulo Coelho. He writes about smallest and simplest things in a beautiful manner that is mesmerizing for the readers.

Some chapters of this novel "The Flowing River" are very short, merely a few paragraphs. When you are done reading those chapters, you may feel empty – as if a story is suddenly cut short half-way through. Yet as you let the minimal words sink in, you realise you were meant to fill in the empty spaces yourself – with your own thoughts, your own reflections, meanings and dreams.
Every story in this book has a meaning. If it is openly shown, then you will enjoy the read and take away the meaning easily. If it’s hidden, then you will enjoy the search to find it and take it away. They’re not complex  meanings, but mostly simple ones that we can try. They might not seem realistic, but they’ll give you a sense of belief. They are beautiful because of that.

Coffee cake topped with wafers and smarties

Hello everyone!
I hope all of you are doing well in whatever you are doing. I took a short break from writing. I was busy with my work. Today, I will be sharing the recipe of my favorite ‘Coffee cake topped with wafers and smarties’. It is quite easy to bake but definitely the yummiest one.

Here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
2 cups of plain flour
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 cup oil
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
6-7 teaspoons coffee
3 teaspoons coco powder
½ cup smarties
Wafer biscuits
1 packet cream
Procedure:
First of all you need to preheat the oven at 180o C. Grease the pan with oil so that the batter doesn’t stick to the pan. Whisk the eggs well in a bowl with the electric blender so that they become foamy. Add 1 cup sugar in eggs and blend them together. Now add oil and blend the three ingredients together. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, coco powder and 2-3 teaspoon coffee. Add egg mixture in it and mix well. Pour the batter in the greased pan and pop it in the oven. Bake it for half an hour. After half an hour check if the cake is baked by inserting a match stick in it. If the match stick comes out clean, cake is ready but if it does not come out clean bake it for another 5 minutes. Your cake is ready. Take it out of the pan and let it cool down.
Now for the topping, whisk cream, add grounded sugar and coffee in it and whisk it to make it foamy. Pour this mixture on the cake and garnish with wafers and colorful smarties. Your scrumptious coffee cake is ready. Serve it with coffee or tea. It also tastes yummy with vanilla ice-cream.

Confess- Risking life but not love

          Hi, beautiful people! :)

Sorry for being MIA, for such a long time. I just got busy and lazy as hell. I hope I won't do this again, but who knows? *winks*

Anyways, I have a lot of stuff in pipeline, so tighten your seat belts and keep reading! Let's start with this book review of one of my favorite authors.

Confess is written by Colleen Hoover. What a heartwarming story it is.There was a lot going on in the story. The beginning of the story intrigued me. I loved the concept of Owen's artwork being inspired by anonymous confessions. After Owen and Auburn's first encountered I immediately wondered how Owen knew her because it was obvious that Auburn had no idea who he was. What bothered me about this book was Lydia and Trey. The control they had over Auburn was manipulating. At the same time Auburn's low-opinion about herself was a bit low point and she allowed Trey and Lydia's control to contribute to her very low self esteem. Ultimately, this book dealt with issues of death, cancer, teen pregnancy, violence, addiction, assault and manipulation. There was a lot of drama in Owen and Auburn's life.

At the same time Auburn's low opinion about herself was a bit pathetic and she allowed Trey and Lydia's control her life and to contribute to her very low self esteem. I understand that she was trying to do whatever she had to in order to be a part of AJ's life but her lack of confidence often made me doubt her character. While she would let Trey and Lydia manipulate her, Auburn took chance with Owen risking being caught and ultimately leading to conflict with Lydia. She would take those chances yet she wouldn't stand up to them.

I hated Trey's character. He was so annoying, jealous and controlling person. The way he manipulated Owen and his father just pissed me off. I actually liked Owen's dad although he wasn't a lovable character. I felt bad for him. Depression and addiction can destroy many relationships. Ultimately, this book dealt with issues of death, cancer, teen pregnancy, violence, addiction, assault, manipulation. There was a lot of drama and I feel like Trey got away too easily for all that he did to Owen and Auburn. He got away with being the angry, controlling jerk that he was. For the way he assaulted Auburn, he should have suffered more severe consequences.

Food Corner- Cupcakes

Hello lovelies!
Today, I’ll be sharing recipe of cupcakes. Without wasting any time, let’s get started.
Ingredients:
2 cups of plain flour
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 cup oil
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
Food color (orange, green, yellow)

Procedure:
Before stating, you all need to preheat your oven at 180o C. Place the paper cups in cupcake tray. Whisk the eggs well in a bowl with the electric blender so that they become foamy. Add sugar in eggs and blend them together. Now add oil and blend the three ingredients together. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda. Add egg mixture in it and mix well. Now separate the batter in 3 separate bowls. I used 3 different food colors so I used 3 bowls. You can use as much colors you like. That’s totally up to you. Take a pinch of 3 different food colors, mix them separately with one teaspoon of milk each and then pour them in their respective bowls having batter.
Now, pour the batter in the cupcake tray and pop it in the oven. Bake it for 20-25 minutes. After 20-25 minutes, check if the cupcakes are baked by inserting a match stick in it. If the match stick comes out clean, cake is ready but if it does not come out clean bake it for another 5 minutes. When cupcakes are done, take them out of the tray and let them cool down. I like them plain. But you can serve them with vanilla or chocolate toppings. Do give this recipe a try and enjoy your cupcakes with hot coffee or tea.

Beauty-Vaseline products

Hello readers!

I am writing after quite a long time and I am sorry about this. i will try to be regular from onward.
This blog post is about Vaseline. I have been using Vaseline White and Vaseline Petroleum Jelly throughout my life.
Vaseline White is a good moisturizing lotion. It works on the dark areas and whitens the skin. It is enriched with micro droplets of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. It helps to heal dry skin and its plus point is that it makes it fairer. It contains vitamin B3 which helps to make skin look fairer by inhabiting melanin transfer and production. It is fast absorbing and non-greasy. It is highly recommended for uneven, dry and dull skin.
Vaseline petroleum jelly has always been my favourite. It is the best moisturizer for lips and I think it defeats all lip balms. It works magically for chapped and dry lips. I always keep it in my bag.
Apart from healing your lips, it works best for dry skin as well. It helps you get softer feet, smooth skin and it effectively works against wrinkles. And the best thing about Vaseline Petroleum Jelly is it actually helps you get longer eyelashes. Have you ever faced the issue of splint ends?... Apply Vaseline Petroleum Jelly on your hair to get rid of split ends. In short, it can do wonders.

I would definitely recommend these Vaseline products.

Chicken Barbecue

Hello lovely readers!

I am back with yet another blog. I’ll be sharing recipe of Barbecue chicken. My father loves chicken so almost every week we have Barbecue night at our home. It is usually a very fun night. Barbecue chicken is quite easy to make but it requires a lot of spices and flavors. Below is the full recipe of the Barbecue.

Ingredients:
1 cup yogurt
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons fresh ground cumin
1 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
2 boneless chicken cut them into cubes
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoons soya sauce

Preparation:
In a small bowl, whisk all the ingredients together. Add this paste on the chicken. Cover, and marinate in the refrigerator at least 1 hour. I marinated my chicken overnight so that after being cooked, it is soft and gooey. Preheat the coal for medium-high heat. Thread chicken onto skewers, and discard marinade. Brush chicken with oil. Cook it for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the chicken juices run clear. When Barbecue is ready, serve it with chili garlic sauce and naan.

I hope you like the recipe.

Book review- The Forty Rules of Love

Hi guys! Today I will be reviewing my all-time favorite book “The Forty rules of love”. I read this book a year ago and I totally loved it.

This book is written by Elif Shafak, a French born Turkish writer. Elif Shafak is one of the most acknowledged authors and feminist in Turkey. The Forty Rules of Love is one of her best sellers of all-time. This novel consists of two parallel narratives. The contemporary narrative is about an unhappily married Jewish housewife named Ella living in Northampton, Massachusetts. Ella works for a literary agency and currently she is given a book named "Sweet Blasphemy" by Aziz Zahara. The sweet blasphemy is the second narrative of this novel. Sweet blasphemy is actually about a wandering dervish Shams of Tabriz, who is a mystic Sufi. He sees the vision of his death and he know that he should find a companion to whom he can deliver his knowledge to. For that Shams travels from Samarkand to Baghdad where he gets to know about Jalaluddin Rumi, a famous scholar of that time by a Sufi. Shams travels to Konya where Rumi lives and the story unwraps itself as to how they become friends, how drastically Rumi starts to change and how people start to hate Shams including Rumi's family. On the other hand Ella becomes acquainted with the writer of sweet blasphemy Aziz Zahara over the email after she becomes highly affected by the sweet blasphemy. Over the course of emails with Aziz Zahara she finds out she is ready to give up her life, her children, her husband for the guy on the other end of the email.

I really liked the novel and most of it is because of Shams of Tabriz, from his rules of love to his strong personality to his love and belief on god everything was mesmerizing. The forty rules of love narrated by shams will definitely change your perspective on life and on your relations and obviously on God.

I will highly recommend this book to everyone.
